On April 1, 2026, Montana’s Local 400 merged with Local 302. We are excited to welcome the Local 400 stationary and construction brothers and sisters to Local 302. 

Local 302 is comprised of Districts, and Local 400 members will become part of the newly formed District 10. Local 400 has worked closely with Local 302 to make the merger as smooth as possible with minimal disruption to the Local 400 membership. To that end, please be aware of the following:

• All members in good standing in Local 400 will become members of Local 302 without payment of an initiation fee.
• All collective bargaining agreements will remain in place.
• All health and welfare coverage and pension contributions will remain the same.
• The apprenticeship and training programs will remain independent.
• The Helena office will be maintained and designated the formal office of Local 302, District 10.
• All monthly District membership meetings will continue to be held at the same date, time, and location.
• The existing Local 400 dues structure will be maintained for all members in the bargaining units formerly represented by Local 400. Effective April 1, 2026 all dues payments must be made payable to Local 302 at: IUOE Local 302, PO Box 5929 Helena, MT 59604
• All former 400 shop stewards will be maintained in their respective roles as Local 302 shop stewards.
• All former 400 Field Representatives will be offered employment with Local 302 to serve their same representational roles within the merged Local.
