Thanks to staff, members, and family who joined us at the “Shine and Show” event at the Bothell Hall. It was great to see everyone and enjoy the summer day together.

There’s been a seismic shift at the Port of Seattle’s 185-acre Terminal 5. Local 302 members are helping lead renovations to welcome the world’s largest container ships, in the most efficient way possible, connecting goods to consumers across our country. Our 302 members have been key players in modernizing Terminal 5 and building capacity to compete on a global scale.

At our Bremerton retiree luncheon, second generation Local 302 operator Bill Lopeman shared a photo of his father, operator A.W. Lopeman and uncle Leon “Tuff” Lopeman who was an oiler.

A.W. is pictured here in 1952 operating a “new” Northwest 80-D while his brother Tuff looks on at the Mats Mats Quarry in Port Ludlow, Wash. Bill also shared a stamped dues book. Things have changed a bit!

We love highlighting stories from our members. Email us your story to share at: mainoffice@iuoe302.org

Primary election ballots are due on August 2, 2022, for Washington and August 16, 2022, for Alaska. Read Local 302’s endorsements here which represent candidates who would help our members secure work and maintain their union rights and privileges. Remember to VOTE UNION!
