If you live in the greater Seattle area you can’t help but be aware of the well-traveled SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Project.
Built in stages, the improvements extend from I-405 in Bellevue to I-5 in Seattle to enhance travel safety and mobility with modern, structurally stronger bridges, as well as roadway improvements.
Our Operating Engineers have been there from the ground-up working hard towards completion of this important urban project.

Work zone injuries and fatalities are at their highest they have been in years.
Workers deserve to come home from work after their shift and not be afraid to take a highway or road job because of the high number of work zone incidents that are occurring.
Members, join us in choosing to #DRIVESAFERWA! This fall, we’re joining the USI (Unions, Senators, Industry Leaders) Committee to raise awareness about work zone safety and do our part to slow down and pay attention in work zones. Help us bring home all workers safely! www.drivesaferwa.org/take-the-pledge

We are proud of apprentice Jerry Fredrickson-McAllister who received the Good Samaritan Award from Alaska Airlines for saving a little boy's life who was choking on a flight.
Jerry took our initial 3-month training course last spring. During that time, every apprentice takes CPR/first aid training. It’s inspiring to see how Jerry’s quick action and training helped save a life.
Keep up the great work, Jerry!
