Alaska Operating Engineers Employers Training Trust
The Trust is responsible for the Alaska Operating Engineers Employers Training Center in Palmer, AK which provides training programs for heavy equipment operators, heavy duty mechanics, and service oilers. Some classes are available at the satellite training center in Fairbanks, AK.
The center offers three different apprenticeship programs, as well as journey-level skill improvement courses. If you already have at least two years of experience in either Construction Equipment Operation, Surveying or Heavy-Duty Equipment Repair (as used in Heavy Highway and commercial buildings), you may qualify to join as a journey-level Operating Engineer.
