Washington State's Role in the Nation's Political Future Now more than ever, it is vital that working men and women vote to protect their jobs and their futures in Washington State. Speaking at the Washington State Labor Council convention recently, AFL-CIO Political Director Karen Ackerman said "If Patty Murray loses in Washington State, that means it will be a sweep for the Right Wing across the country". Washington is considered a bellweather state in the nation, and the impact of each person's vote could not be more important than it is now. Local 302 encourages its members to get involved with Labor Neighbor phone bank campaigns and other Labor Neighbor activities to 'get out the vote' for the November general election.
